A traditional Han woman showing off her hand embroidered shoes. Her village is known for maintaining a relatively old way of life. Still, she was worried about how fat her legs look. Some worries are universal.
A close up of her shoes... only years ago, she explained she would have had a blade attached to the toe for protection.
