First signs of winter

Winter arrives in Central Oregon with wall of stormy clouds hanging on the Cascade mountains. An occassional glimpse of one of the mountains confirms first snows. The wind blows across the high desert flats with the slight sting of a barely perceptable snow. We know winter is coming and I resign myself to the biannual closet switch -shorts & short sleeves go to storage to make room for long underwear, hats, & heavier socks. This year I've been caught off guard and I'm not sure I'm ready for another cold winter living in a trailer.
