Using a dog training belt

I have two dogs attached to this belt.   Brutus, the chihuahua puppy, is running free, though normally I would have him on the belt and let Maya, the mixed breed, run free.

Dogs should not pull on the belt.  Leashes should have some slack but not so much that dogs get tangled.
At this length, I can easily walk or run hands free and dogs can still sniff and have some freedom of movement without getting tangled in the leash.

I use a Herm Sprenger quick release prong collar when training dogs to walk without pulling.   I prefer these to choke chains as  the dogs will not pull against the prongs.   They look mean, but try one on your arm or leg.

Using a collar that is effective saves the dogs the stress of having their necks constricted (they will not pull against the prongs) and saves my back and arms from having dogs lunge at a squirrel or another dog.   Once dogs are well trained to heal, any collar will do.
